The celebration of the 17th anniversary of Ukrainian Independence will start from the grand opening of the International Art Festival in “Ukrainian Dom”, which will last during 20-22 of August. Besides, National Exhibition of Ukrainian Art will be demonstrated during the independence celebration.

On 21st of August an athletic race for youth “Independence race” will take place in Khreschatik street. Then Ukrainian Art Festival of different national minorities will be held in Central Park of Culture and Rest.

On 24th of August at 10 a.m. all the city guests and native citizens will have a chance to see the ceremonial military parade.  The Ukrainian forces will march through Kreschatik street – from European square to Institutskaya street. Kyiv folk concert programme “Alive sole of powerful nation” will be introduced on “Spivoche pole” of Pechersk Landscape Park.

National masters’ fairs (weaving, ceramics) and embroidery exhibition will be held in Ivan Honchar Museum and Lviv Blowing Glass Exhibition will surprise the guests in Hetman Museum. A thematic concert in Cossacks honour will be arranged in Central Park of culture and rest.

On 24th of August a final stage of Wakeboard European Cup (classical version) will take place in Hydropark area.

Ukrainian Flower Exhibition considered to be traditionally held in Pechersk Landscape Park. Youth concert in honour of Independence Day will accomplish the event and a great firework will be the high point of celebration.
